                         WALT:Report,Recount,Reflect

When:On week 7 of term 2

Where:At Auckland zoo at western springs
What:A school trip with the senior syndicate
Why:To look at the amazing animals
Who:We went with parents,teachers,children
How:We went on a 2 story bus

Hi bloggers, last week the awesome senior syndicate went to Auckland zoo at Western springs for a exciting school trip to look at the animals. We went with parents, teachers, children but before we could head off we had to get in groups with a parent. When we got in groups we went on a 2 story bus and headed off.''The wheels on the bus go round and round'' After we got off the loud song bus we had a little talk about were things are and then went off to the enclosures. The first enclosure my group went to was the cute red panda's and when we got there one of the red panda's had his head in the middle of a twig and he was looking at us with it's cute eyes.

''Oh! Ah!''After morning tea my group went to see the amazing servals but when we got there we could only see one but that's okay and there AMAZING animals! My group stood there for a while because everybody was there so it was hard to see the amazing servals. Then my group went to the blue penguins  enclosure and sore cute rescued penguins.

Lastly we went to the otters encloses and saw some cute otters there were peacefully swimming in the calm cold water and i have to be honest i LOVE otters speciality thees otters well that's me.Goodbye wonderful bloggers!

Waikowhai Art Festival

          😀😄Waikowhai Art Festival😆😁

Jumbo bloggers, I will be telling you about our art festival and our creative bird paintings. On Tuesday 26th of June we had our first art show for the term, it's on until Friday 29th June which ends tomorrow so come on down to see all the amazing art. I chose to paint a fantail because it is a native bird to New Zealand and it is a very beautiful bird because it feathers are like fans and are nice colours together. For the body I used beige brown because that was the closest colour to a fantail, I used a dark greyish colour for the feet because I wasn't quite sure what colour a fantail feet are, I used a dark brown colour for detail like strokes and wings.

I think my bird turned out better than I thought and It is good. I think that next time with the water I could blend it more better but apart from that I am proud of my work. After I finished my bird painting I worked on my Chromebook and made a sign that had to say a massage relating to don't litter. My message was showing how animals end and start, for example a turtle starts out happy and healthy but end up unhealthy and unhappy because it is dying from plastic rubbish that people drooped. Well that's me blog you latter!

Tiritiri matangi trip

This is me and my friend Zoe picking up colourful shells.😀

Hi bloggers, last week the senior school got on a bus to go to the fairy station to get onto a fairy to go to Tiritiri matangi island and got into groups and went on a bush walk with a tour guide and saw and heard some native and endemic birds. Then we went to the beach and on our way back to school we watched a movie on the bus and closed the curtains on the bus and when we got back it was very dark.

Kererū are big birds, in fact they are one of the largest pigeons in the world. They weigh about 650g and are about 50 cm long.😀

The fantail is known for its friendly ‘cheet cheet’ call and energetic flying antics, the aptly named fantail is one of the most common and widely distributed native birds on the New Zealand mainland.😁

Word picture

In Our free time our teacher Mr Riceman showed us how to make a picture out of words. We decided to do this because since it was pink day a few days ago and pink day represents No bulling and bulling involves emotions so we wrote emotion in a picture.

It was super fun for the first time and everyone enjoyed it!

Des hunt visit

This afternoon Des hunt a popular author came to Waikowhai Primary school to show us his books.
Des Hunt showed us chemistry and his back story for how he came to be a popular author for kids and adults. Des Hunt came to visit with his wife Lynne and showed us pitches of his pet  Puku. We had a chance to buy his books for 10$ and he sighed the books for the people who bought them. His books are recommended for children aged 9-12.He showed us the fist book he wrote(the last Tuatara).

My favourite part of the pretension was when Des Hunt Did a big explosion and it landed at one of the students Tipiloma and everyone blocked there ears because it was very loud.My favourite part was the big explosion because it went all the way to the back of the room and  it was so AWESOME.He did the big explosion he was seeing how the lighter worked and his story wasn't going good so he thought of a more adventure story from the lighter.

Now that I have seen his presentation I am look for more Des Hunt stories and try some of the tricks he did at home and see how it turns out! I am so existed to go home and read the two books I bought and like Des Hunt did if I get a rejection letter I am never going to give up I am going to keep trying till I am excepted Evan if I takes all night.
