Family fun day!

๐ŸŽ‰ Our Community Fun Day ๐ŸŽˆ

Jumbo bloggers! This week our school had the best family fun day on the 22nd of March. There was a bouncy castle, games, wheels fun, water slide, bake sale and more. On the day everyone had to bring $3 to help fund-raise money for the surprise (that ended up being a awesome bouncy castle with a obstacle course!!) The staff also had lots of fun, lots of adults were racing each other on the bouncy castle but one was the overall winner. . . . Mr. Rattenbury!! I had a blast at the fun day, my favourite bit was the bouncy castle because I got to do it with my amazing friends! Everyone (even the adults) had to dress in their house colours depending on which house group they were in. The 4 house groups are, Pukeko - green, Kea - red, Ruru - blue and Tui - yellow and also the best house group because I am in it! As each group finished doing their activities, we had a 2 minute silence like the rest of NZ to remember the lives that were lost in the shooting. In the end everyone had the best day I wish we could do it again! Blog ya later! Here is a slideshow showing how much fun we had and I will see you next time bloggers!! Take a look๐Ÿ˜€

The Christchurch tragedy

Our 2 minute silence on our community fun day

                 Our special assembly

Welcome back wonderful bloggers, on Friday 15th of March one of New Zealand's most saddest tragedies happened in the afternoon. For those of you that don't know what happened, there was a big mass shooting in Christchurch that killed 50 people. That cultures religion was Muslim and luckily the person that was shooting was arrested - hopefully for a life sentence. The shooters father had just died and so the person was somehow angry and started shooting because he didn't like the Muslim culture being in NZ, giving no one enough warning. All the local schools had to go on a 4 hour lock down. This also shows how rare this comes especially in New Zealand. School's all around should practise what to do in a lock down in case a tragedy happens again. As well as doing the special assembly we also did some reading activities that related to the shooting. We wish the people of Christchurch all the best. Here is a link to our reading work about the shooting. Sharing love, not hate! Blog ya later!! If you would like to see the Give a Little page click on this link to see how much has being raised!

We planed a special to remind us that no matter what
our culture or raise is we are the same no matter what.

Here is some cards from us to send of to
the mosques that have been affected.

Syndicate treaty

Syndicate Treaty

Jumbo bloggers, welcome back to another fabulous blog post of mine.
To start off this year our syndicate has made a treaty of all the rules the
we agreed on. On it has our 5 articles - People, Property, Safety,
Learning and rules for home like make good choices on what you eat like
fruit for brain food. I think a treaty is a good idea because than every
- body knows the rules and also because it means that people can follow
the rules because the treaty will be hanging on the wall. After we made
the treaty we all signed it with a special Fountain pen that a kid named
Rio at our school bought. For those of you that don't know what a
fountain pen is, it is a pen the either needs ink in it to write or has in it
already to write with. The rule that most relates to me is - Ask questions
- Be curious! I think our treaty turned out really good and I think we
should do one each year! Well that's it from me and I'll see you again
when I write another post.๐Ÿ˜€

My GTKY

Getting to know you forms

Konichiwa bloggers, lately we have been working on our getting to know
you forms and almost everyone has finished, the whole point of doing a
getting to know you form is so we can get to know everyone. We will
have it on a shelf so everyone can learn new things about each other.
I enjoyed doing this task because I like writing about myself and what
I like and what I dislike and I also liked the bit about how people got to
know me more. I also liked how we got to be creative with what we
wrote and we got to write whatever we wanted about ourselves. I have
taken a photo of my form and linked it, come check my form out!  Enjoy
and I’ll blog ya later!:-)

Now back to work, here are some tips I learned and I hope they help you๐Ÿ‘

Tips I do to stay smart online

  • Never write in capital letters because people think your yelling!
  • Don't share were you live, your phone number or your last and middle name.
  • If you get mean emails tell a adult you know straight away.
  • Don't go on any sites you not supposed to go on.
  • Don't talk online with anyone you don't know.

Cameron pools!!

              Welcome to 2019!!!

Welcome back bloggers, I hope you've had an amazing holiday and I can't wait to tell you all about our 2019 school year! This year our focus is Wellbeing and for the start of the term we have been doing some awesome swimming at Cameron pools with the new and improved Te Waka Ako. Everyone had a blast at Cameron, my teacher was Brogan in the big pool and it was so much fun. What was most fun was when we got to dive of the edge of the pool  and I enjoyed the ride on the school bus because it was interesting to look at all the different views! I think it is important for schools to go to swimming lessons because in New Zealand we are surrounded by water and it gives you good skills if you are ever in trouble. Well that's it from me and if you would like to do lessons at Cameron pools go to https://www.ymcaauckland.org.nz/find-your-local/cameron-pool-leisure-centre/swimming/swim-school/
